The Drummer Boy

The Drummer Boy is my latest novel about the ghost of a Gordon Highlander Drummer Boy from the Battle of Waterloo who haunts a modern day army nurse.

Chapters take place in modern day Aberdeen, at the Noose & Monkey bar and restaurant as well as His Majesty's Theatre and Garthdee. Other scenes take place at Tidworth and during the Napoleonic War.

Read the first three chapters for free on most devices.

A great deal of money can be saved when you buy on internet shops like Amazon and Waterstone's.

Do not be put off by the weight nor worry about the cost of postage because most online book shops offer free delivery when you spend over a certain amount. This is usually as low as £5. Many internet book shops can offer savings as high as 70% on their titles, even new releases and hardbacks. Sadly though the disadvantage of buying discounted books this way is that high street book shops are closing at a steady rate due to the discounts offered online and not being able to match these cheap prices due to their overheads such as rents and rates, staff wages, etc. Online discounted book shops can save on these expensive overheads and progress by offering customers these savings. Most offer next day delivery and usually deliver within the week. More difficult to obtain titles are possible to be purchased from online book stores though delivery on these can often be a bit longer and the price slightly higher.

The same works for discounted magazine subscriptions because the titles cut out the middle man of the newsagent so can offer cheaper magazines to their customers. These magazine offers often come with gifts such as CDs, DVDs, etc. One thing to be aware of is the small print in the terms and conditions. You may be offered say six issues for £1 and this sounds a great offer, which it is. But after the offer period the costs can revert back to normal internet prices, though these are usually still at a reduced price and certainly much cheaper than if you walked into a high street newsagent and purchased the title off the shelve.

Visit and they will explain how you can earn money from selling books in your local community at schools, village halls, libraries, at home parties and more. Includes details of earning potential, selling tips and other useful information.
